Are you ready?

Let’s go!

“Daily” natural hair regimen for beginners

I am starting with your daily routine.

Natural Hair Regimen for Beginners

When it comes to taking care of your hair daily i’m a big advocate of “less is more” so i want you to focus on moisturizing your hair by misting your hair will water which is inside a spray bottle.

Then proceed by applying your favorite moisturizer and follow up by sealing that moisture in with an oil (I personally love Jamaican Black Castor iol or Olive Oil).

Make sure your Moisturizer has water as the first ingredient or choose natural product lines.

I Shared more on How to Keep Natural Hair Moisturized Like a Boss and i Love this 15+ Life-Saving Homemade natural hair moisturizers and i recommend checking out this 8 Revolutionary Natural Hair Oils for Dry Hair & Their Benefits in order to make the right choice of oil.

Recommended Moisturizers

  1. Giovanni Direct Leave-In
  2. Cantu Leave-in
  3. Oyin Juices and Berries

Recommended Oils For Sealing in Moisture

  1. Jamaican Black Castor Oil
  2. Olive Oil
  3. Coconut Oil

2.Keep Your Style to Minimum Manipulation:

When it comes to styling your hair what i think will work best in this natural hair regimen for beginners is choosing a simple style during the day.

Our hair tends to grow more when we don’t over manipulate it.

If you find a style that works for you like braid outs’ twist outs and so on go for it but make sure to not overdo it like re-twisting daily and so on.

If you don’t have time for styles a pretty cool hack is to go for a protective style during the week.

I personally love mini twists and here is a quick video of how I get mine done:

That’s the best solution for a natural hair regimen for beginners!

3.Night Routine

I know that what we do to our hair at night will surely come back to us the next morning.

I know you can feel me on those lazy nights that you don’t have time to do your hair but the next morning your hair is a hot mess..

Yep so that’s why i have build a pretty simple and consistent routine of protecting my hair by keeping it in a style like braided, twists or try the pineapple method (love this tutorial) or watch the video below on how to get it done.

Then i go ahead and cover my hair with a satin scarf and go straight to bed!

ps: If you don’t like covering your head then you can go get some of this cute satin pillowcases and just make sure your hair is in a specific protected style for the night. (Buns works great too just not too tight).

4. Choose Your Styling Routine

What hairstyles will you do for the week/day or Month?

That’s the first thing you have to ask yourself if you want to have this natural hair regimen for beginners to work for you.

Planning ahead of time will help you out from stressing out during morning time (I know how it feels when you don’t have any style to do!).

Not cool at all!!

“Weekly” natural hair regimen for beginners

What’s Your wash day like? Wash day is one of the busiest days of every natural woman’s regimen.

Natural Hair Regimen for Beginners

So many things to do and so little time, right?

What i have found that works for me is to develop a wash or cowash routine by choosing one or two shampoo’s that will be your staples (I Love some of these Sulfate-free shampoos).

If shampoos tend to be too harsh for your delicate head then try cowashing more often.

Best to get a simple conditioner since it’s just for regular cowash use.

What’s Your favorite Deep Conditioner?

Next, you don’t want to skip deep conditioning your hair after your weekly wash.

Here are some amazing deep conditioners for you to try that are under 12$ or you could try these DIY deep conditioners for my DIY Queen’s out there!

Did you Skip Detangling?

Yep, You should always work your way through those tangles using your fingers or with a comb.

I have tried both and i think it’s best to use each according to your hair condition.

Bellow are two good tutorials on how to detangle your hair with fingers:

Using a comb:

Then You can proceed by:

  • air drying 80%
  • applying your leave-in conditioner
  • hair styler
  • Style as you wish!

“Monthly” or “Occasional” natural hair regimen for beginners

Have you Tried these Hair Treatments?

Natural Hair Regimen for Beginners

These treatments are done occasionally but if you try them and fall in love with them sure do them as much as you find fit:

  • Protein Treatments
  • Clay Masks
  • Hot Oil Treatments

Trims or Dusting

Last and not least Trimming your hair is super important!

Natural Hair Regimen for Beginners

What you want to do is watch how to trim your hair alone or go search for a good stylist that will trim your hair and not cut it 🙂

Then it’s up to you to decide when it’s best to get those trims.

I don’t really advise you to get them weekly or monthly.

Every few months works best in my opinion. Don’t forget to invest in a good trimming sheer for maximum results!

THE CONCLUSION

Whether you’re growing your hair or learning how to care for it better building a natural hair regimen for beginners is always a challenge because let’s be honest, there are so many things you could do with your hair.

What i advice you is to take a pen, sit down, break your regimen into daily, weekly and monthly activities that aren’t too complicated as i showed you above and go for it.

There is always a first time so why not start today?!Click To Tweet
