12 Natural Hair Blowout Tips

12 Natural Hair Blowout Tips for a Amazing Blowout

1. Shampoo your hair with a cleansing shampoo.

Shampooing the hair strands may lead to over dryness.

Only shampoo your scalp once or twice, or it could lead to flakiness. Warm water opens the hair cuticle to allow shampoo to fully cleanse.

2. Wash hair with apple cider vinegar or baking soda to remove build up.

Often, harsh soaps and shampoos strip hair and skin of its natural oils, leaving you feeling dry all over. The acidity of apple cider vinegar counteracts that process and actually balances your skin and hair’snatural pH levels. Choose an organic brand of raw apple cider vinegar for the most beauty benefits.

3. Condition your hair either with a deep conditioner or a hot oil treatment.

Apply the oils or conditioner by running the product thoroughly through your hair. You can use a store bought deep conditioner or make your own. Use all natural, 100% organic virgin oils.

4. Apply conditioner and rinse.

Before blow drying any hair of any texture, you should always apply a leave-in conditioner.

5. Finger detangle your hair starting from the ends.

Run your fingers gently through your hair to separate knots and kinks. Do not use a brush or a comb, this could lead to unnecessary breakage and shedding.

6. Use cold water to rinse out conditioner.

Rinsing with cold water will close the hair cuticle and retain moisture. While warm water opens a hair’s cuticle to allow shampoo and conditioner to do their job, cold water helps to close the cuticle and seal in moisture from the conditioner — which helps your hair look shiny and healthy.

7. dry your hair with a tee-shirt

The Tshirt trick is a way to keep curly hair protected from the damaging dryness that standard heat tools and terry cloth towels can bring. Drying your hair with a standard towel, can absorb too much moisture and rough up the cuticles, causing extra frizz.

8. Add leave-in conditioner to damp hair

leave-in is generally used in smaller amounts than a regular conditionerBenefits: Rinse-out conditioners coat the hair’s outer layer, add softness, and help repair damage done by harsh shampoos. They provide moisture by replacing the vital oils in your hair that are lost during the shampooing process.

Here are 12 leave-in conditioner for curly hair that can do wonders for your hair!

Let your hair dry for few mins before you proceed to the next step:

Silicones also seal the hair cuticle and reduce moisture loss, which also helps protect from heat damage. … Keep in mind that heat protectants only reduce the amount of damage caused by heat styling.

According to labmuffin they can’t completely protect your hair – even the best results show about 50% heat protection at most.

10. Use hair clips to section hair into manageable chunks.

Section the hair into at least four parts but it can be sectioned into 6 or even 8 if need be.  This may be necessary for our thicker haired Naturals. Any technique that will keep us from ripping hair out is a good one!

11. Blow dry your hair with a comb attachment or pick the right brush and in small, easy-to-work sections.

Start blow drying starting from the ends of your hair to the roots. You can choose any of the blow drying methods for best results.

12.Finish the blow dry with a cold blast of air.

Hot air opens up the cuticle layer and cold hair closes it up sealing the hair, boosting shine and reducing frizz.

How often do you blow dry your hair?

It doesn’t matter if you hit your hair with the heat everyday or once a week, the fact of the matter is, every time you do it is going to cause damage, so ideally, you want to avoid blow drying altogether, or go as long as you can between blow drys.

Is Blow drying hair on cool damaging?

Sounds like a case for air-drying, but get this: The study found that while the heat of a dryer can cause more damage than not using one, using a hair-dryer at the right distance and temperature can actually cause less damage than letting hair air-dry. That’s because when hair comes in contact with water, it swells.

Warnings

  • Because Black hair is fragile, avoid using a brush when drying your hair. When blow-drying afro hair, the tension from the brush can damage and break wet hair.
