You can revive your curls by making up your own, at-home treatments using coconut or olive oil, eggs, or honey.
Here are seven nutritious hair masks for damaged hair:
1. Olive Oil and Avocado Hair Mask
By now you should have understood that olive oil is full of omega-3 fatty acids.
These type of acids play an important role in hair growth, shine, and strength.
Another thing is that they’re also full of antioxidants, which help fight off hair-aging free radicals.
Let’s get into some of the ingredients in this recipe: The avocado provides amino acids and proteins which can help stimulate your hair production process.
It surely moisturizes dry hair and soothes a dry scalp.
What You Will Need:
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey for extra hydration.
How to get it done:
Blend ingredients and apply in small sections to your clean damp hair.
Next, cover your hair with a shower cap for 30 to 60 minutes.

How to get it done:
Combine ingredients and blend.
Apply in small sections to clean, damp hair.
Cover hair with a shower cap for 30 to 60 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar, Lemon, and Honey Mask
This recipe works best on oily not dry hair.mon juice absorbs excess oil. The apple cider vinegar balances pH – restoring proper acidity to the scalp.
The apple cider vinegar also cleanses without stripping away too much oil. Honey seals in moisture, for lustrous strands.
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Juice from one whole lemon
- 1 tablespoon honey
Blend ingredients and apply in small sections to clean damp hair. Cover hair with a shower cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual.
5. Almond Milk and Coconut Oil Mask

- 4 egg whites
- 5 tablespoons almond milk

Apply on the scalp and hair and cover with a shower cap.
Leave for 45 minutes to 1 hour and wash with a hydrating shampoo.
Coconut oil and Aloe Vera treat. to perfection.
8.Mayonnaise Hair Mask
Using this delicious sandwich ingredient is the simplest way of getting a spa-like treatment at home.Mayonnaise contains oil and eggs which are ideal for pampering hair.It helps in controlling frizz, revives hair in a single application, and is considered to be one of the most effective conditioners.
What you’ll need
Half Cup Mayonnaise
Apply mayonnaise liberally on your scalp and hair ensuring that all the strands are evenly coated.Cover with a shower cap and leave for 30 minutes.You can wrap your head in a warm towel for better results.Wash with a mild shampoo and conditioner.
9.Banana Hair Mask
Banana is a rich source of potassium and vitamins.
Its use makes hair soft and manageable. Banana, when used with honey and yogurt, fights hair fall, makes hair shiny and moisturizes your locks.
What you’ll need
- 1 Ripe Banana
- 2 -3 tbsp. Yogurt
- 1 tbsp. Honey
Mash a ripe banana and blend all the ingredients together in a blender(Ensure there are no chunks otherwise it will be difficult to wash the hair).
Apply this mask thoroughly on hair.Cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes.
Rinse hair well after using this mask as banana tends to stick to the hair and scalp.
Wash with a shampoo and conditioner.
10.Castor Oil-Honey Mask
Castor Oil has a thick consistency and you can mix it with an oil of your choice.It helps in increasing hair growth and promotes strength.
It controls hair fall, conditions, restores damaged hair and provides shine.
What you’ll need
- 5 tbsp. Castor Oil
- 5 tbsp. Honey
Mix five tablespoon each of castor oil and honey in a bowl. Apply evenly on the hair and scalp and cover with a shower cap.
Next, use a warm towel over the shower cap for 30 minutes and Wash with a mild shampoo for smoother shinier hair.
The last step will help in opening the pores and the scalp will soak the ingredients.
11.Milk and Honey(Bonus)
Milk and honey works wonders on brittle, damaged hair that is thin.
How to use it:
You just need two cups of milk and two teaspoons of honey. (The thicker the hair, the higher the fat content of milk you should use).
Heat the milk up in the microwave to a lukewarm temperature, but hot enough that when you put the honey in it dissolves.
This is where you should add the flour, too, if you’re using it.
Pour it over dry hair in sections, massaging it in to make sure every strand is covered. Shampoo after 15-20 minutes.
