How To Grow Natural Hair In A Month

Let’s get into some daily and weekly habits that can help you grow your hair in a month. Remember, when it comes to natural hair, there is no magic pill, everything works together for your good!

(Can I get a amen, somebody!?) Okay, let’s get into the fun part!

Psst! A secret, you can also add some tasty smoothies into your diet to help you grow your hair longer and naturally (Here is how)!  ❤😁

Learn the Power of Co-Washing More Often

If you want to grow your hair in a month you should be doing at least the basics, and co-washing is one of them!

Co-washing stands for washing with conditioner and it’s a way to mildly cleanse your natural hair and replenish any dry strands at the same time.

This method keeps your hair soft and hydrated, especially during the winter months.

You can cowash your hair more frequently if your hair is very fragile, especially if you have a type 4 kinky hair for intense hydration and conditioning,.

But on the other hand you need to understand that co-washing doesnt cancel shampoo from your hair regimen!

When you are looking for a shampoo, the main focus is to keep your natural hair away from ones that lather, as these chemicals can strip hair of its moisture.

So go for sulfate-free and cream shampoos like Hair Rules Cleansing Cream Shampoo to keep your natural hair lubricated through your hairstyles.

The Mystery of Deep Conditioning Weekly

Another thing that can help you grow your natural hair in a month is deep conditioning! Use a deep conditioner weekly with a plastic cap in the shower, under a dryer, or even overnight to activate the heat.

To make your deep conditioner go the extra mile, you can try steam treatments.

They are beneficial because they open up the cuticle of your natural hair and deposit hydration.

A great deep conditioner to try during a steam treatment is the Tgin Honey Miracle Hair Mask.”

Another thing you can do if your hair is still feeling drier than the desert is to add a hot oil treatment to your deep conditioner.

Apply the hot oil at the scalp and when you go to rinse off the conditioner, you rinse through the scalp. It helps the oil seal in the conditioner over the hair strand because oil is a sealant.

Why Is My Hair So Dry Even With Conditioner? Here is Why!

The Right Detangling Method Will Make or Break Your Progress

Detangling the right way can make all the difference and help your hair grow better within a month!

You should generally avoid detangling on dry hair!

It’s easier to detangle your hair in the shower when your natural hair is full of conditioner and wet.

To make things easier, section your hair off into two parts, then split that that into four.

You should take your time meaning be gentle and detangle from the bottom to the root.

Don’t forget to use the right detangling tools like a Detangler Brush (I really like this type), which catches fairy knots and smoothes hair at the same time.

After detangling, put your natural hair into two-strand twists and rinse out the conditioner with the twists still in.

You’ll have a little bit of conditioner, but go ahead and dry it with your T-shirt and your natural hair will feel extra soft.

Who Said Towels??

Don’t let a towel stop all the progress you’ve done so far, we have only a month!

If you use a traditional cotton bath towel you should know that it can pull and stretch your hair, stripping out moisture, which doesn’t help at all when it comes to our goal of growing your hair out.

A much better thing to do is to carefully squeeze and pat your hair dry with an old cotton T-shirt or, or much better using a microfiber towel.

This type of towels are more caring for your natural hair and really helps to reduce breakage.

Let It Be And Take A Break From Heat

This is key if you want that growth within a month! You should try to avoid heat drying and styling if you can until your natural hair is in better shape.

Your Edges Need some Care Too!

We don’t really think of our edges when it comes to growing our hair out but they are also important.

Our edges also called “baby hair” is the finest, softest hair, but you can avoid breakage by keeping your baby hair soft and moisturized.

Regular Trims Are So Important

Super duper important, if you havent trim in a while, try it as you start this growth journey, your hair will thank you!

Don’t be afraid to get haircuts. Why? Tangles, single-strand knots, and split ends are the reason for needing a trim.

Getting a trim every three and a half to four months will keep your kinks and curls popping and looking great all the time.

Wanna L.O.C. It Up?

Moisture is key factor to keeping your hair from breaking off, and nobody wants hair that is breaking!

You can follow a routine of using leave-in conditioners, oils, and creams to keep your natural hair hydrated and protected most of the time.

It is very important to remember that healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp.

When it comes to hair oils, you can choose oils like jojoba, castor, avocado, and lanolin oil because they are all great for sealing and moisturizing since they don’t sit on top of your hair.

Protective Styles With Love

The magic word protect what you have! Protective styles are great when you need to give your natural hair a break from constant manipulation.

One thing I love about it is the fact that it offers style versatility, and literally protect your ends during winter months.

Here is the thing, the key to wearing braids, twists, weaves, and wigs is to not wear them for too long or forget to take care of your own hair underneath.

You Could Use a Satin Scarf or Pillowcase.

If you’re sleeping with a cotton pillowcase, that’s a no-no if you wanna grow your hair.

The reason is because of the fibers rubbing against your strands cause friction and even more breakage.

Instead of cotton pick, a silk/satin lined scarf or pillowcase to protect your natural hair while you get some valuable night rest.

Maintain a healthy diet for Healthier Hair

Your diet can also influence the health of your natural hair because your body needs the right nutrients for your follicles and scalp to be healthy
Go for a diet rich in proteins, vitamins, iron, and omega oils to help promote a healthy scalp and follicles.
Other vitamins that are essential for healthy hair are vitamin B and C, found in berries!
Try Growth Oils & Hair Vitamins
Using growth oils can help boost your hair growth since we have just one month, I recommend you applying Jamaican black castor oil alternating with wild growth hair oil.
This combo will do the trick.
Now about vitamins, you should take a multivitamin, to begin with (Get the one that says for hair, skin, and nails).
You won’t see a crazy growth within a month but you will see improvement and some type of growth. The most important thing is that you now know how to take better care of your hair which will result in hair growth for longer period of time, wohoo! 🙂
