Remember, you won’t see super duper growth because your hair needs some time to bring forth results, but try these tips and here we go!
How To Grow Natural Black Hair In A Week
Well, when we talk about fast har growth, I believe there are some things that can speed our hair growth! So let’s take it step by step!
Give A Multivitamin a try!
I love taking a multivitamin because I don’t have a 100% perfect diet so it helps me balance my intake!
A simple multivitamin and well-balanced diet are all you need for healthy natural hair. I gave more info about vitamins that help promote hair growth if you want to read more about them!
Drink More Water for Better Looking and Feeling Hair
When it comes to your natural hair care it’s very easy to focus on the external part of it. Let’s say that it is the same way with your skin — when you have dry skin or natural hair, you look for the nearest moisturizer… girl, we need to get ourselves together, haha!
Doing this will only cover up how dry your har looks (not the most effective way to treat it).
Moisturize and nourish your natural hair from the inside out by drinking water (or get that water reminder app). You will notice a huge difference in both your hair and skin when you are drinking water daily.
They said Moisture is key… well…
The thing that is sure is the fact that it is essential for healthy-looking natural hair. Keeping your afro well-nourished and moisturized will help to enhance elasticity and shine, and curb brittleness and breakage.
Wrap your hair before bed
A silk scarf will protect your lovely hair from friction, preventing tangles, dryness and further damage. It has become an automated process for me after years of being natural, You will get used to it, just try your best this week to protect your hair at night!
Join the Less Manipulation Queens
Sometimes, less is more. If you give your hair a break from daily styling, you will see some great results. Try to not comb or brush your tightly-curled hair daily, not even every other day.
Low manipulation or protective styles, like twists or braids, protect your natural hair from manual breakage and moisture loss.
Be Smart and Work In Sections
It can become stressful if you have so much hair and you are trying to do much to it all at the same time
Try to wo 4-6 sections, from shampooing to conditioning to moisturizing to detangling. These ensure full coverage.

Shampoo, Co-Wash and Rinse Depending On Your Hair Needs
According to your natural hair type it can be by nature very porous, meaning has a high porosity, and mine is no different.
A clean scalp promotes healthy natural hair growth by removing build-up, dead skin, and other unwanted dirt.
Cleansing more frequently than once a week or twice a week is perfectly ok if you’re using a gentle sulfate-free cleanser.
let’s get into something important… your ends (Yikes!).
Pay A Lot of Attention To Those Ends
Let’s be honest ladies, many times we pay less attention to the oldest part of our hair, the ends.
They are the last part to receive moisture and product, but they are the first to lose these things. In addition to trimming split damaged ends, you should apply your product for ends to tips.
So try to always moisturize and seal your ends so they can also experience the care and love.
Try Penetrating Oils! They Work Best.
If you want an oil that sits on your hair strands then shea butter would do the trick but giving penetrating oils such as coconut or olive oil that actually absorb into the hair, giving it the ability to strengthen and reinforce the hair’s internal structure is the best.
Need some Heat? The Hooded Dryer is Your Friend
When it’s time to deep condition my hair, I always sit under the hooded dryer.
It’s very beneficial to sit under a dryer during deep conditioning treatments because it will help your conditioner enter the hair more thoroughly.
Plus, 30 – 45 mins under the dryer reduces air drying time and helps your style to set and last longer.
Don’t forget your Leave-In Conditioner
If you have tried it all yet your hair feels dry after you’ve just washed it, think again. Have you applied a leave-in conditioner? It helps keep the moisture levels on point. Try it!

Heat is one of the biggest damagers of natural hair if not used with care and knowledge! If using a hairdryer is necessary, set it on the lowest heat and remember to always use a heat protectant spray.
Don’t forget to Deep Condition Your hair
Hair should be deep-conditioned once per week or as often as needed. The purpose of deep conditioning is to maintain the health of your hair and keep it strong.
After the first month of deep conditioning your natural hair religiously, you will notice a change. Your hair will be a lot healthier, thicker, and fuller.
How to Apply a Deep Conditioner
- Part your natural hair into four, six, or eight sections to prepare it for the application.
- Untie a section of your hair and apply the deep conditioner treatment on your hair from root to tip. Do this to each section of your hair.
- Once you have distributed the deep conditioning cream, let it sit in your hair for at least thirty minutes. The longer you leave the deep conditioning cream in your hair, the better the results will be. You can also sit under a dryer for better results. Typically, using a hooded dryer while deep conditioning will be helpful for people with low porosity hair. If your hair is high porosity, it won’t need heat to help it absorb the conditioner.
- After conditioning your hair for a significant amount of time, rinse it out and apply a leave-in conditioner.
