Before we get into the styles let’s get a better understanding of what exactly is a curly frohawk.

According to Wikipedia Frohawk may refer to:

There are many ways to create a curly frohawk but let me share with you a pretty basic way.

This technique works best if you have medium-length hair with lots of shrinkage. Here’s how to create a pretty looking curly frohawk:

To start, my hair was in a shrunken, super old ‘twist & curl’ and already well moisturized…

Before you start, make sure your hair is in a curly state, shrinked also works but you could previously do styles such as a twist & curl, roller set or even a rod set.

1. Part your hair into 3 sections forming a U-shape at the crown & horizontally in the middle.
2. slick edges of back & middle sections w/ gel ( you can use EcoStyler  or edge control of choice )
3. brush the sides up to create 2 puffs with the back & middle sections using ponytail holders (leave the front section out)
4. fluff & blend each section together

Helpful tips while trying to create your first Curlyt Frohawk:

In order to make things easier,  starting on hair that is somewhat stretched and detangled might make it easier to part and style.

It can also give you some length if your hair is not very long just yet.

If your hair is shorter (the front of my hair, when stretched, reaches my chin) just divide your hair into four smaller sections- a bang with three puffs.

If your hair is longer, put all three sections into puffs/ponytails to create the look.

It’s always good to moisturize your hair before applying your gel.

You always want to be sure that your hair is always protected and safe even if you use an alcohol-free gel like the EcoStyler gel.

Pulling your hair too tight will make you regret this style so remember to not pull your hair too tight when forming your puffs.

We are trying to save you from later on headaches and your edges missing (no joke)!
