What Is The Cause Of Dry And Itchy Scalp?

If the natural hair and scalp’s pH balance is disrupted, it can result in a dry, itchy scalp. The skin barrier might become permeable when the scalp’s natural moisture is depleted. This permits toxic compounds to infiltrate the skin, resulting in scalp micro-inflammation. Itching, redness, and distension are some of the symptoms of micro-inflammation.

How to Treat Dry, Itchy Scalp in Black Hair The Link Between Dry, Itchy Scalp and Hair Loss on African Hair

It’s critical to understand how to maintain a healthy scalp when you have natural hair. An unhealthy scalp, it is believed, can sometimes lead to unneeded hair loss. Hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, including medical conditions, but it’s also frequently linked to poor hair care.

Hair loss caused by lupus erythematosus or general skin illnesses such as fungal infections and psoriasis, which is generally accompanied by symptoms such as scalp itching, redness, and dandruff.

Cleaning the scalp is, of course, necessary for hair care. It’s also preferable to use shampoos, conditioners, and masks that are free of sulfates and silicones to treat dry itchy scalp on natural hair. Silicones collect on the surface of the scalp, blocking the follicles, while sulfates are detergents that cause foam and can be quite harsh for hair. It should also be a staple in your routine for a thorough exfoliation.

There are specific exfoliation products for the scalp, and it is the greatest way to deep clean it while renewing it, because the massage movements promote improved blood circulation in that area, allowing the hair to oxygenate and receive the nutrients it requires.

Deep Conditioner for Dry Hair: Itchy Scalp Remedies for Black Hair Masks for itchy scalp and natural hair growth can also be beneficial to your scalp. Apply them gently to rehydrate the area, and wrap the head in a towel while doing so to boost the impact. Yes, remember to rinse it thoroughly afterward with plenty of warm water.

Another element to consider is the water temperature: excessively hot water can eliminate the natural protective barrier that the scalp (and the rest of the body’s skin) has, causing it to secrete more sebum. Extremely cold water is also ineffective in removing dirt that is more deeply embedded.

You may also have a fungus if you have a greasy scalp and have to scratch constantly. The most common cause of itching is a scalp that is excessively dry. Even if your dry scalp doesn’t itch, it’s unpleasant and can cause dandruff. Once a week, use a hydrating hair treatment to keep it looking great.

Argan oil, on the other hand, isn’t usually seen in people’s homes. The oil, on the other hand, is ideal for scalp and hair maintenance. Argan oil, which is 100% natural and organic, hydrates and nourishes your skin.

The best part is that it is completely natural and has not undergone any industrial processing. For me, this makes it a significant home remedy.

Apply some argan oil to your scalp (with a pipette, for example) and gently massage it in.

Allow the oil to work for a while, ideally overnight. However, you must next cover your pillow with a towel to protect it from the oil.

Use a mild shampoo and lukewarm water to wash the argan oil.

If you wish to put the oil on dry hair, go ahead and do so. Apply the oil to your hair and sleep with your head braided.

Burdock Root Extract
Burdock root oil is a natural active component that can help with dry, itchy scalp. The root’s therapeutic properties were known as early as ancient Greece.

Burdock root oil is applied directly to the scalp, similar to olive oil, and must function over a longer length of time.

The chemicals help to reduce irritation and moisturize a dry scalp. The oil of the burdock root is also used to treat psoriasis and hair loss. When purchasing burdock root oil, be sure it’s 100 percent natural.

Tea Tree Oil is a natural antiseptic.

Tea tree oil is a versatile oil that can be used for a variety of purposes. Tea tree oil is considerably more useful when used with baking soda. In fact, many naturalistas use baking soda for natural hair growth since it can kill any fungal development on the scalp.

Now, let’s return to tea tree oil. The essential oil is beneficial to the scalp since it is antibacterial and fights against bacteria and fungi, which are common causes of itchy scalp.

Simply mix a few drops with a light hair wash for easy application. The tea tree oil to shampoo ratio should be around 10ml per 100ml shampoo.

You can also produce your own tea tree oil shampoo at home. To make this, combine 250mL hot chamomile tea, three heaping tablespoons baking soda, and two tablespoons tea tree oil in a mixing bowl. You can use it instead of your regular shampoo once the mixture has cooled.

Coconut Oil, Organic

Coconut oil is a fantastic treatment for sore scalps. It’s also wonderful for natural hair growth when used during a scalp massage. It soothes itching and functions as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory due to its high content of saturated fatty acids.

Simply apply a small amount of organic coconut oil to the scalp and leave it on for a few minutes. The oil is then rinsed out with a gentle shampoo as usual. Your hair will be silky and supple, in addition to the scalp care.

Apply the hair conditioner to the hairline with your fingertips and gently massage it into the scalp.
Put on a shower hat and wait around 30 minutes for your hair to cure.
Then thoroughly wash it with a gentle baby shampoo.

Dry Itchy Scalp Causes Afro Hair Loss Treatment

If you’re experiencing hair loss and think it’s due to a dry, itchy scalp, try one of the homemade conditioners or tonics listed above. Some Things to Watch Out For When It Comes to Dry Itchy Scalp on Natural Hair

Use caution while working with dyes! You’re more likely to have a serious allergic response or even minor burns on your scalp if you use colours that contain ammonia or powerful chemicals. Choose hair-friendly colours and seek the advice of a professional who understands the importance of using the right product.

We often avoid going to the salon to cut our ends for fear of losing an inch of hair, but then colour our hair at home, oblivious to the fact that the consequences might be far worse.

Also, take in mind that discolorations dry out the scalp significantly, and if applied incorrectly, can result with severe burns. Always seek out a trained hairdresser for a discoloration procedure, and use moisturizing masks at home to care for your damaged scalp.
