Beware of over-conditioning!
Some women love to leave a deep conditioner on their hair for hours at a time for various reasons. While conditioning is good for the hair, too much of a good thing is not necessarily better. Conditioning for hours at a time can result in softer hair and this likely occurs because of a change in the keratin forming a different configuration than normal.

That’s interesting what you’ve said about leaving deep conditioners on for hours. Most people will leave it on over night, or half of a day but the bottle will only ever say to leave it on for half an hour at the most. I think maybe the important thing is if you leave it on for long time, you probably need to deep condition less often.
